Resources for Exploratory activities
An interface has been produced to demonstrate how the same fundemental building blocks used to construct the practical experiments can be re-purposed to allow students to devise their own investigations of chemical reactions.

The demonstration investigative interface poses the learner with the challenge devise and run a set of experiments to determine as much as they can about a chemical reaction. The interface has been built so that the reaction being investigated is randomised within known limits each time it is run,so that learners are unlikeley to get the same reaction twice.

In it's current state, it is a resource which would need to be tailored to suit a techer's specific requirement. It is easy to re-purpose the interface (see documentation) for instance to:

  • Limit the randomness of various parameters in order to define a known reaction
  • Devise specific problems related to realistic scenarios, e.g historical experiments, the petro-chemical or pharmaceutical industry
