Jelsim Builder is a tool for the rapid production of interactive simulations (Jelsims). These can be rapidly produced and easily deployed to the web, intranet or online learning course through a standard browser as a Java applet. Previously, simulations were expensive to produce, bespoke programmes whose code could not be re-used. The unique JeLSIM software separates the behavioural model from the visualisation so that the model can be re-used and adapted according to the purpose or standard of user experience.

We have a well-developed philosophy (see this JelsimPartnership.pdf) that defines our approach to learning and believe that eSims add value to e-learning courseware by creating exciting and meaningful material.

Creating interactive simulations (Jelsims) for e-learning programmes is easy with the JeLSIM software tools:

• By separating the behavioural model that drives the eSim from the visualisation, there is greater scope for re-use: saving valuable development resource and speeding up the production process.
• Jelsim Builder encourages the members of the development team to concentrate on their own area of expertise - programmers create the behavioural model, educators create the visualisation.
• Visualisations can easily be tailored to better match the users' needs, without having to adapt the behavioural model - the teacher is empowered.
• The Jelsims are created as Java applets and can be seamlessly integrated into web pages, and stored as learning objects in content repositories or Learning Content Management Systems.
